Books on Break!

Spring break is just around the corner, so don’t forget to come pick up books before you leave!

We have some amazing new comics, a bunch of good beach reads, and anything else you’re in the mood for.

New in the Library

  • This collection of short fictional stories explores disability, written by authors who identify as disabled along a physical, mental, or neurodiverse axis. These tales span across many different genres and time periods, giving readers a glimpse into the lives of disabled people and their friendships, first loves, and travel adventures.
  • (Gr 7+) Parker and Charlie are twins, but they couldn’t be more different. Charlie is confident and outgoing; Parker is insecure and introverted. Charlie got leukemia; Parker didn’t. Life seems to be going great for Parker, after landing a summer internship and getting ready to head to Harvard in the fall. But after Finn, a boy leaving graffiti messages across town, makes Parker feel free for the first time, will she be able confront the truth she’s been running from for a long time?
  • (Gr 6+) Virgil, Valencia, Kaori, and Chet “the Bull” aren’t friends. They don’t even go to the same school, but when Chet, the biggest bully in the neighborhood pulls a prank on Virgil, the lives of the four middle schoolers collide in unexpected ways. Just a coincidence? Or are some things just meant to be?
  • (Gr 9-12) In this masterfully compiled and edited collection, sixteen different authors tackle love triangles with fresh, entertaining, romantic stories with premises ranging from a teen girl who offers kissing lessons, to zombies in the Civil War South.
  • (Gr 8+) Charlotte has always felt ordinary at her prestigious Weston Preparatory Institute, especially compared to her two best friends: Ariel and Devon. Then, unthinkably, both friends commit suicide within a month of each other. Everyone accepts the suicides as tragic coincidences, but Charlotte discovers clues left behind by Ariel that lead to a dangerous secret about Weston Prep.
  • (Gr 9+) Autumn, Shay, and Logan are all bound by their love of music. But when tragedy strikes each of them, somehow music is no longer enough. Now Logan can’t stop watching videos of his dead ex-boyfriend, Shay is a music blogger struggling to keep it together, and Autumn sends messages to her best friend that will never be answered. Despite the odds, one band’s music will reunite them.
